‘Abortion Battle Brews in Albany’
Thank you for putting your edifying article, “Abortion Battle Brews in Albany,” where it belongs: On The Front Page [New York, February 19, 2008].

‘McCain v. Bloomberg’
How does Mayor Bloomberg stand on McCain/Feingold [Editorial, “McCain v. Bloomberg,” February 13, 2008]?
You say that he refuses to tailor his principles to politics. Since McCain-Feingold gives all politically aspiring billionaires a huge edge, this would be a most interesting test of your statement.

‘Quinn Positions Herself for Mayoral Race’
New York City has a long history of using its waterways, and while neglected in recent decades, we applaud City Council Speaker Christine Quinn’s call to action for a more sustainable ferry system to address congestion and transportation equity issues [New York, “Quinn Positions Herself for Mayoral Race,” February 13, 2008].
An enhanced ferry service would create better access to the numerous national parks and other great sites around the city’s harbor, as well as keeping the cost of such access at levels that all New Yorkers and visitors can afford.
We hope that under Ms. Quinn’s leadership plans of both Rep. Anthony Weiner and Mayor Bloomberg plans can be brought together in a coordinated manner to best serve the residents of the region.
Our national, state, and city parks are great treasures that ought to be easily accessible to all. By providing a decent ferry service, New York City would unlock these parks’ potential as a great resource for all residents and visitors, as well as their ability to be an major economic contributor to the region.
