The family who sold this 1,030-square-foot apartment cashed out and moved to Hawaii. “They did really well on their investments, and told me they wanted to simplify their life and live on the beach with their kids,” said their broker, Beth Kenkel of the Corcoran Group. The husband, who worked in finance, and the wife, who was an employee of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, bought the apartment less than one year ago for $530,000. A young schoolteacher bought the apartment, which has 10-foot ceilings, oversized windows, and a courtyard atrium. She beat out six competing bids with financial help from her father, a pre-approved loan, and a high bid. The apartment also has a galley kitchen with a dining alcove, a picture window overlooking a back garden, and hardwood floors. Corcoran Group broker William Spiros represented the buyer.
