From now until Labor Day, designer Elie Tahari is offering a fusion of art and fashion.
While Mr. Tahari was making the rounds at Art Basel Miami Beach in December, he was introduced to the artist Kenny Scharf. Mr. Tahari and his wife, Rory, are longtime fans of the artist’s bright, cartoon-inspired paintings, and they were eager to collaborate with the Los Angeles-born painter.
The result is Mr. Sharf’s whimsical print “Floatungle,” a swirl of underwater vegetation and squid-like critters applied to a limited-edition capsule collection by Mr. Tahari. Items include a silk chiffon caftan ($248), a cotton voile pareo ($168) in yellow and kelly green, and a surfboard ($15,000), below. Proceeds from sales of the pareo benefit the charity God’s Love We Deliver. The items are sold exclusively at the Elie Tahari flagship store in East Hampton and at the SoHo outpost.
