Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week isn’t just for showing off clothing. Two new fragrances were presented to the industry in recent days: Bryant Park by Bond No. 9 and Bill Blass will officially hit stores March 1 and February 11, respectively.

Of the two scents, Bill Blass ($65 for a 1.36-ounce bottle) is the more reserved. Inspired by the concept of scent and attraction, creative director Michael Vollbracht chose to go with a soft smell to differentiate the perfume from others dominating the market now. “To me, a scent is about place and time. It automatically triggers a memory — a moment — and a sense of familiarity,” Mr. Vollbracht said. The mainly floral fragrance contains top notes of green mandarin, neroli petals, and galbanum, middle notes that include jasmine and lily of the valley, and base notes of musk and sandalwood. As an extension to the perfume, which will be sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue stores, Bill Blass has created a bath and body line that includes a body lotion, cream, and powder.

Bond No. 9, the boutique perfumery known for making perfumes inspired by New York neighborhoods, has turned its attention to Midtown’s fashion center. Bryant Park ($45 / 1-ounce bottle) is a dramatic fragrance that gives a spicy twist to delicate rose.

The mixture of rosepatchouli and pink pepper evokes the bright lights of runways and attitude of A-list models. As the president and founder, Laurice Rahme, puts it: “It is not for shy people. It is very rich, very gutsy. It makes a lot of noise. It matches fashion.”

Even the bottle, which looks like a pink and fuchsia pattern, matches the perfume. Though the official launch is still weeks away, Ms. Rahme decided to give a sneak peak this week because: “You know, fashion people like to be first!” Bryant Park will be available at Bond No. 9 stores and selected Saks Fifth Avenue stores.
