In her fall 2008 collection, Ports 1961 designer Tia Cibani combined tweeds and shaggy furs inspired by the Scottish mythology with fitted, retro shapes. The results, on view at the label’s Bryant Park fashion show Monday, were sometimes discordant. A blue cable-knit sweater was worn with a wool cotton plaid bustle kilt. Ms. Cibani’s concept worked best when structured looks were paired with fantastical knit details, such as a loch-blue bandeau dress enlivened with yarn embroidery, and a green knee-length coat.
