The Thakoon presentation at Eyebeam was a romantic affair, as designer Thakoon Panichgul presented a spring 2008 collection with bohemian flourishes and a passing nod to menswear. The show opened with buttoned-up suiting that evoked the effortlessly rumpled, layered looks immortalized by Diane Keaton in Woody Allen’s “Annie Hall” (1977): canvas fedoras atop slouchy shorts and trousers, and perfectly tailored drawstring waistcoats in slate hues. A reoccurring striped, abstract print was affixed to shirtdresses and flowing silk sundresses in shades of yellow and navy with buckle-waists. Mr. Panichgul proved himself an ever-inventive designer too, showing inverted pleats and voluminous pin tuck skirts that featured indigo prints and more stripes.
