ACCESSIBLE AIR TRAVEL

The United Spinal Association, a national veterans’ service and disability rights organization, has made a pamphlet available for individuals with disabilities traveling by air. “Accessible Air Travel: A Guide for People with Disabilities” covers reservations, transportation to the airport, the boarding process, and ways to address violations of the law. It touches on refusal of service, advance-notice requirements, security screening, and airline liability for equipment.

FLY TO THE SLOPES

Soon, New York-area skiers can be slope-side at Mont Tremblant via an 80-minute nonstop flight from Newark International Airport. On December 26, Voyageur Airways begins regular biweekly (Sunday and Thursday) service to Canada’s 18-month old Mont Tremblant International Airport, a move which makes first-class skiing easily accessible to East Coast enthusiasts. The airport terminal is a traditional Quebecois log cabin where a fireplace and honey wine cocktails await arriving visitors.
