MOMA’S RILEY TO MIAMI Museum of Modern Art curator Terence Riley has agreed to take the helm of the Miami Art Museum as it prepares to move to its new expanded site overlooking Biscayne Bay. Mr. Riley, who has served as MoMA’s chief curator of architecture and design for 14 years, is set to begin his new job in March.
Miami Art’s board of trustees president Mary Frank said Tuesday that Mr. Riley was the board’s unanimous choice. “He’s going to be able to help us not just build a great building but build a great museum,” she said. Mr. Riley, 51, will replace Suzanne Delehanty, who has headed the museum since its inception a decade ago.
Mr. Riley has already helped design several projects in Miami’s up-and-coming Design District, where he recently built a home. As a condition of his new job, he has promised to take a break from design and devote himself full time to the museum.
