Paramount Vantage and Overture Films will co-finance and distribute filmmaker Michael Moore’s next documentary, which will be a follow-up to his 2004 Oscar-winning film, “Fahrenheit 9/11,” and is scheduled for release in 2009.

According to a report by United Press International, Paramount Vantage will coordinate the international distribution and Overture will handle domestic distribution. Paramount Vantage said it will launch the film into the international marketplace this week at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

“Fahrenheit 9/11” grossed more than $100 million at the domestic box office with its subjective examination of the Bush administration’s preparation for and response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
