OPENING UP THE CITY The third annual open house new York weekend, presented by Target, offers the chance to tour New York architecture from the famous (the Chrysler Building) to the curious (the Edgar Allen Poe Cottage in the Bronx). The Ellis Island hospital – where a million immigrants were treated between 1900 and 1954 – will be open to the public for the first time ever. (Note: Children under 16 are not permitted in the hospital.) Saturday and Sunday, tours and schedules vary, go to www.ohny.org for more information, 917-583-2398, free.
