SOUTH AMERICAN ART Galeria Cecilia opens its doors to the public for the first time with the exhibit “Origenes Latinos/Latin Roots.” It features pre-Colombian gold artifacts and jewelry designs, bright paintings by Colombian artist Cecilia Moreno Yaghoubi, and urban and automotive art by Cuban artist Thomas Yerandee. LADIES FIRST The group show “Girls on Film” gathers work by artists who portray women the way pop culture often does: as starlets, pinups, or fashion models. Artists whose work is on view include John Currin, Paul McCarthy, Cindy Sherman, and Andy Warhol.
