CALIFORNIA TO CHICAGO Paintings by Miyoko Ito (1918-83) are on display at Adam Baumgold Gallery. Born in California to Japanese parents, she was imprisoned in an internment camp after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. She later attended the Art Institute of Chicago and remained in Chicago for the rest of her life, exploring cubism and abstract styles. The paintings on view in this exhibit, her first New York solo show since 1978, are from the 1960s and 1970s.
