CELEBRATING SPAIN Queen Sofia of Spain is the special guest at the annual black-tie Gold Medal Gala of the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute. The institute’s chairman, Oscar de la Renta, presents the award to this year’s honorees, Julio Iglesias, Henry Kissinger, in the dead of winter in Wisconsin. TO THE LIGHTHOUSE British mystery writer P.D. James signs her new novel “The Lighthouse: An Adam Dalgliesh Mystery” (Knopf), in which the commander of Scotland Yard investigates the murder of a famous novelist off the Cornish coast.
