PRIZE SWIMMERS Slate columnist David Plotz discusses his new book “The Genius Factory” (Random House), an investigation into the Repository for Germinal Choice, a sperm bank stocked only by Nobel Prize winners. After almost two decades of operation under its eccentric founder, it folded in 1999 and its records were sealed. Mr. Plotz set out to find out what happened to the children the experiment produced, and whether they are Nobel material like their fathers. SEEDY D.C. Jessica Cutler reads from and signs her novel “The Washingtonienne” (Hyperion), loosely based on her blog of the same name. Ms. Cutler was fired from her job in a Senator’s office when her online journal about her very active social life was discovered and widely circulated in Washington, D.C.
