ON THE SPOT German choreographer Sasha Waltz’s “Impromptus” was inspired by a series of Franz Schubert piano pieces that will be performed onstage with live vocal accompaniment. Ms. Waltz participates in a post show discussion after Thursday’s show. AUDIENCE MOVEMENT Choreographer John Jasperse presents “Prone,” a new work for three dancers with a live score by Zeena Parkins. The audience alternates between lying on the floor among the dancers and sitting in chairs at the edge of the performance space. The featured performers are Luciana Achugar, Levi Gonzalez, and Eleanor Hullihan. A discussion follows tomorrow’s performance. DRUMMING AND TAPPING Producer Toshi Hirano presents the New York premiere of “Otodama,” a percussion show that combines traditional Japanese taiko drumming and American funk tap dancing.
