SHADOWS AND STORIES Asia Society’s Family Day includes Indian dance performances, shadow puppetry, storytelling, and other activities. Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Asia Society and Museum, 725 Park Ave. at 70th Street, 212-327-9213, free.


POP IN FOR POP-UPS Several authors of pop-up books pop in to Books of Wonder for a reading and signing. The three 3-D readers are David Carter (“Let’s Make It Pop-Up,” Little Simon), Matthew Reinhart (“The Ark,” Little Simon), and Gene Vosough (“Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” Little Simon) (Saturday, noon-2 p.m.). The next day, original Beach Boy Al Jardine sings and reads from his children’s book “Sloop John B: A Pirate’s Tale.” The book’s publisher, Milk & Cookies, provides its namesake snacks. Sunday, 1-3 p.m., Books of Wonder, 18 W. 18th St., between Fifth and Sixth avenues, 212-989-3270, free.
