MODERN FAMILY The Ford Family Programs at the Museum of Modern Art series kick off a season of arts education with a reading by Jon Scieszka, the co-author of “Seen Art?” (Viking), a children’s guide to the museum. Other authors in the series include David Wiesner (July 14), Vera Williams (July 21), and Molly Bang (July 28). GARIFUNA FUN The Brooklyn Children’s Museum’s Free Friday Family Jam series kicks off with an evening of music from the International Garifuna Band, which plays tunes from the Garifuna people of the Caribbean, South America, and Central America.
