ICE SCREEN


Icelandic landscapes play a leading role in Hilmar Oddsson’s “Kaldaljos” (2004). It is being screened in a festival of recent Scandinavian films. Tonight, 6:30 p.m., Scandinavia House, 58 Park Ave., between 37th and 38th streets, 212-879-9779, $8 general, $6 members. Note: The film is in Icelandic with English subtitles.


PENN STATION


A new screening series focuses on Pittsburgh’s avant-garde film scene during the 1970s. A program of Stan Brakhage shorts kicks things off (Friday, 8 p.m.). Also this weekend at the same theater, Robert Flaherty’s pioneering full-length documentary “Nanook of the North” (1922) is shown on the big screen (Saturday, 4 p.m.). All screenings: Anthology Film Archives, 32 Second Ave. at 2nd Street, 212-505-5181, $8 general, $6 seniors and students, $5 members.
