FEVER LOVE The Goethe-Institut New York presents a screening of Douglas Sirk’s “La Habanera” (1937), a melodrama of love and a raging virus. A spirited Swedish woman takes a cruise to Puerto Rico and falls in love with a rich land-owner but after a decade, the marriage sours. A visit from her childhood friend, a doctor investigating a fever spreading in the area, turns into a chance to release her anger at her husband and his island. Tonight, 8 p.m., Anthology Film Archives, 32 Second Ave. at 2nd Street, 212-505-5181, $8 general, $6 seniors and students, $5 members. Note: The film is in German with English subtitles.


INNOCENCE ABROAD In “Comedie de l’innocence” (2000), a boy announces to his mother on his 9th birthday that he has a new name and a new mother. Isabelle Huppert stars as the surprised mother. The screening is part of a retrospective of Ms. Huppert’s work. Raul Ruiz directs. Saturday, 1 p.m., Sunday, 5:45 p.m., Museum of Modern Art, 11 W. 53rd St. at Fifth Avenue, 212-708-9480, $10 general, $8 seniors, $6 students, free for children under 16. Note: Tickets do not include admission to the museum, but the cost may be applied to a museum ticket within 30 days. Paying the full museum admission allows admission to same-day screenings.
