IN A PICKLE The Holland Herring Festival begins with a tasting of imported niewe maatjes herring, which are in season for just a few weeks. Tomorrow, noon. Festival: Tomorrow through Friday, June 17, various times, Grand Central Oyster Bar, Grand Central Terminal, 42nd Street, between Park and Lexington avenues, 212-490-6650.


TASTE OF THE CITY Chefs including Daniel Boulud, Bobby Flay, Nobu Matsuhisa, Wolfgang Puck, and Charlie Trotter whip up dishes for the “Starry, Starry Night” tasting evening. Proceeds go to Citymeals-on-Wheels, a nonprofit organization that delivers meals to homebound senior citizens in all five boroughs. Monday, 7:30-10 p.m., Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue at 48th Street, 212-687-1290, $500 and up.
