QUARTET AND TRIO The New York Philomusica Chamber Ensemble concludes its season with a performance of Messiaen’s “Quatuor pour la fin du temps” (“Quartet for the End of Time”) and Beethoven’s Piano Trio No. 6 in B flat, Op. 97 “Archduke.” The guest soloist is clarinetist Paquito D’Rivera. WINDY CITY SYMPHONY Daniel Barenboim conducts the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in performing three different programs at Carnegie Hall. The first features Bach’s Orchestral Suite no. 2 in B minor and Mahler’s Symphony no. 9 (tomorrow, 8 p.m.), next is an evening of Bartok (Saturday, 8 p.m.), and the final program includes works by Wagner, Boulez, and Beethoven (Sunday, 2 p.m. pre-concert talk, 3 p.m. concert).
