SOUL MUSIC IN BROOKLYN The second installment of the Martin Luther King Jr. Concert series features crooners Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle (tonight). Upcoming concert highlights include the O’Jays (August 1), Hezekiah Walker (August 8), Chaka Kahn (August 15), and the Mighty Sparrow (August 22). THE BEAT GOES ON Summer Stars Concert Series, the classical-music wing of the River to River Festival, presents a performance by percussionist Svet Stoyanov. THEIR TURN A group of understudies gather to perform songs from the Broadway shows they (occasionally) star in. The program includes Rosena Hill (the Lady of the Lake in “Spamalot”), Laura Marie Duncan (Christina Colgate in “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”), Julie Barnes (Truly Scrumptious in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”), and several substitute cast members from “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” Tonight, 8 p.m., Ars Nova Theater, 511 W. 54th St., between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, 212-868-4444, $15.


NAUMBURG NIGHT Gregory Vajda conducts the third of four installments of the Naumburg Orchestral concert series, an event celebrating 100 years of free outdoor music in Central Park. The concert features viola soloist Hsin-Yun Huang, with music by Igor Stravinsky, Paul Hindemith, and Bela Bartok. Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m., Central Park, Naumburg Bandshell, south of the 72nd Street cross-drive, 718-340-3018, free.


GYPSY SPIRIT The Lincoln Center Festival presents “The Spirit of Django,” a tribute to the music of French “gypsy guitarist” Django Reinhardt. Guitarist Dorado Schmitt, violinist Florin Niculescu, accordionist Ludovic Beier, and percussionist David Sillerman are among the musicians playing in this swing jazz festival. Wednesday, 7 p.m., Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall, Broadway and 65th Street, 212-875-5050, $35-$57.


CONVERSATIONAL TUNES The guitarist Andy Schneider plays with saxophonist Oran Etkin and drummer Joe Abba, in anticipation of the October release of his new album, “Monologues, Dialogues, and Real Conversation.” Wednesday, 10-11 p.m., Rockwood Music Hall, 196 Allen St., between East Houston and Stanton streets, 212-477-4155, free, donation requested.
