STARRY JAZZ Jazz lovers can enjoy live music, tapas, and wine under the stars at the American Museum of Natural History. The fall season of the Starry Nights series kicks off with a performance by the Jim Seeley-Arturo O’Farrill Quintet. The ensemble is led by trumpeter Mr. Seeley, a Kansas native, and keyboard player Mr. O’Farrill, the son of bandleader Chico O’Farrill. COUNTRY ROOTS The 22nd annual Roots of American Music Festival gets under way with music that salutes the Grand Ole Opry. Performers include country artists Sourdough Slim, Ginny Hawker, and Tracy Schwarz (Saturday, 2 p.m.); the Nashville Bluegrass Band, Rosemary Woods, and Doc Watson (Saturday, 7 p.m.); Si Kahn, Bob Conroy, and the Johnson Girls (Sunday, 2 p.m.), and Suzy Bogguss, Ricky Skaggs, and Kentucky Thunder (Sunday, 8 p.m.).
