FEMALE INFLUENCE Jazz at Lincoln Center presents the Women in Jazz festival. Featured performances include singer Angela Bofill (tonight through Sunday), pianist Marian McPartland (Tuesday, September 13), singer Rita Coolidge (Wednesday and Thursday, September 14 and 15), the Claudia Acuna Quartet (Tuesday and Wednesday, September 20 and 21), and the Helen Merrill Quartet (Tuesday, September 27). The series closes with the Karen Briggs Band and the Leanne Ledgerwood Trio (Sunday, October 2). CENTER STAGE Dicapo Opera Theatre presents “Death by Aria,” an overture to its upcoming 2005-06 season. Resident artists, who are usually used in secondary roles and as understudies, sing from such productions as Carlisle Floyd’s “Susannah” and Puccini’s “La Boheme.” Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Dicapo Opera Theatre, St. Jean Baptiste Church, 184 E. 76th St. at Lexington Avenue, lower level, 212-288-9438 ext. 10, $20.
