SITAR SOUNDS Sitar player Irshad Khan, who specializes in the surbahar (bass sitar), performs a concert of classical, folk, and “worldbeat” tunes. He conducts a workshop the next day (Saturday, $20). ROCKETS AND PANTS The Brooklyn Lyceum presents performances by three bands: Rockets and Cars, Pants, and Mancino. The concert is part of the monthly music series Live at the Lyceum.
