SOUTHERN SOUNDS The Southern Mississippi-Hattiesburg Southern Chorale performs a program of works by Schubert, Purcell, Bach, Mozart, Britten, and others. The concert also includes performances by the Ligon GT Magnet Middle School Orchestra and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York. A portion of proceeds will go to the victims of Hurricane Katrina from the choir’s region. FOR DRESDEN Music director Lorin Maazel conducts the New York Philharmonic in the American premiere of “Berceuse for Dresden.” The program also features Schumann’s Cello Concerto with Jan Vogler as the cello soloist, and well as Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9.
