MELODIOUS The line-up at the ever-reliable music venue Tonic includes Brandon Ross Costume, a quartet featuring guitar, cornet, bass, and drums (8 p.m., $10); the man about town Marc Ribot on guitar with Shahzad Ismaily and Ches Smith (10 p.m., $12), and the Brooklyn-based Midnight Pagoda, playing an acoustic show with lead singer Michael Pitt and Indigo on cello (midnight, $5). Downstairs, the hipsters can get their groove on with DJ Spinoza playing techno, jazz, dub, hip-hop, and “curious noises in spurious sizes,” along with visuals by Giles Hendrix and Chris Jordan (10 p.m, $5). KICKING AROUND The Lascivious Biddies, an all female cocktail pop quartet, perform. They are Deidre Rodman, pianist and composer, Amanda Monaco, guitarist (who’s just launched online guitar lessons), jazz and swing singer Lee Ann Westover, and Juilliard-educated Saskia Sunshine Lane on upright bass. GREATEST JACOBEAN HITS TheVoxVocal Ensemble performs a concert of a cappella works and verse anthems by two of the greatest composers of the Jacobean Chapel Royal, Thomas Tomkins (1572-1656) and Thomas Weelkes (c. 1576-1623).
