BATTLE OF THE BOOKS A “battle of the literary gladiators” pits Jim “Rumbling” Ruland, the author of “The Big Lonesome” (Gorsky), against “Scrappy” Sam Lipsyte, the author of “Home Land” (Picador). The book bout is presented by Opium magazine, a journal of literary humor that is celebrating its fifth anniversary.
