SHORT AND SWEET Thomas Farber reads from and signs his new collection of epigrams, “Truth Be Told: New & Collected Premortems” (Hip Pocket Press). The book includes three essays on the author’s love affair with short and clever sayings. LITERARY LIGHT Argentine novelist Luisa Valenzuela inaugurates the Americas Society’s 40th Anniversary Literary Exhibition with a reading of her new short stories. A reception follows in the new ly installed Reading Room, which has more than 100 portraits of poets, writers, translators, and editors, as well as a collection of first-edition books.
