WAIT UNTIL DARK New York University presents “Night Talks,” a discussion of visual and textual representations of nightfall given by a literary scholar at the University of Zurich and the NYU Otto and Ilse Mainzer lecturer, Elisabeth Bronfen.A dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Science, Catharine Stimpson, is host of the event. FRENCH INTELLECTUAL The French department of New York University presents “Drums on the Dam,” a staged reading of a book of the same name by a founder of poststructuralist feminist theory and protégé of the late philosopher Jacques Derrida, Hélène Cixous. The piece is directed by Kevin Kuhlke and a chair of the department, Judith Miller, is moderator of the event on Friday. On Saturday, Ms. Cixous gives a lecture on “The Flying Manuscript,” about her discovery of a lost Derrida text.
