SOME ENCHANTED EVENING The Center for the Humanities of the City University of New York presents “Poetry as Enchantment (in a Disenchanted Age),” a lecture by a poet and current chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, Dana Gioia.The talk is a tribute to the late poet Stanley Burnshaw. A professor of English literature, Matthew Bruccoli, and a professor of history, Robert Zaller, are featured guests. SHARED EXPERIENCE The New York Public Library presents a conversation with an architect and set designer, David Rockwell, who discusses his collaborative work about the allure of larger-than-life events in the book “Spectacle” (Phaidon). Featured panelists include a creative director for Barney’s New York, Simon Doonan, a stage director and costume designer, Julie Taymor, and a veteran journalist, John Hockenberry.
