IVES LEAGUE
Lee Blessing’s “Going to St. Ives” is the final production in Primary Stages’ 20th anniversary season. The two-person drama follows the mother of a sub-Saharan African dictator. Maria Mileaf directs. PLASTIC PLAY
The new play “Tupperware Orgy,” about a group of women in a small Southern town, treats sex, religion, and violence with equal irreverence. The playwright and director, John DeVore, is an associate editor at Maxim magazine. DRAMA ON BOARD
Six playwrights, six directors, and 15 actors collaborate on “Scenes from the Staten Island Ferry,” an evening of theater written and rehearsed last weekend in under 24 hours. For inspiration, the Sundog Theatre troupe did some of the preperatory work aboard the ferry – the result, a fully staged production, takes place on dry land.
