FITZGERALD IN LOVE
Peter Mills’s new musical “The Pursuit of Persephone” inserts F. Scott Fitzgerald into the plot of his first novel, “This Side of Paradise.” The play follows a college romance between Fitzgerald and a beautiful debutante based on his future wife, Zelda Sayre. (In real life, she rejected him repeatedly until the novel’s publication made him a star; they married one week after its release.) Cara Reichel, who co-wrote the show, directs the Prospect Theater Company production. Through Sunday, May 22, Thursday-Saturday, 8 p.m., Sunday, 3 p.m., Connelly Theatre, 220 E. 4th St., between avenues A and B, 212-352-3101, $15 general, $12 students. Note: Additional performance takes place Wednesday, May 18, at 8 p.m.
