‘DESIRE’ WITH A TWIST Benny Sato Ambush directs a one-time reading and discussion of Eugene O’Neill’s drama “Desire Under the Elms.” In this interpretation, most of the cast members are African-American, which adds another dimension to O’Neill’s story of a Rhode Island man whose marriages have raised the ire of his family. BOWERY LIGHTS The Jean Cocteau Repertory opens the doors of the Bouwerie Lane Theatre to off-off-Broadway theater companies as part of the Off Bowery Festival. Featured productions include the Barefoot Theatre Company’s “Kingdom Come” (tomorrow and Wednesday) and the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble’s “Othello” (Tuesday, July 26, Thursday, July 28, and Sunday, July 31).
