GREAT GRANDCHILDREN A play by William Yellow Robe Jr., “Grandchildren of the Buffalo Soldiers,” is performed tonight. It follows a man, descended from a Native American grandmother and an African-American grandfather, who returns home to a Montana reservation. SPIRITUALISM ONSTAGE In John Chatterton’s play “Beyond the Veil,” set in Victorian England, an agnostic scientist begins to believe in an afterlife after he meets a medium who accurately predicts a personal tragedy. Soon the scientist begins a series of experiments to prove the validity of spiritualism. Mr. Chatterton directs his own play, loosely based on the life of Sir William Crookes, who performed extensive experiments with a psychic named Florence Cooke.
