BROOKLYN STROLL
New York Like a Native presents an ambulatory crashcourse in all things Brooklyn, including a tour through Park Slope, Prospect Park, and Brooklyn Heights, as well as an explanation of the borough’s architecture and history. Friday, 5-7:30 p.m., meet on the top steps of the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, 718-393-7537, $15.
ROOSEVELT TO ROOSEVELT
NYC Discovery Walking Tours offers a stroll around Greenwich Village and Gramercy Park, with special emphasis on early presidential residents. Stops include Washington Square Arch, Theodore Roosevelt’s birthplace, and FDR Drive, where participants can watch the fireworks. Saturday through Monday, 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., 212-465-3331 for reservations and meeting place, $13.
FOR THE BIRDS
The NYC Audubon Sunset Ecotour of Hoffman and Swinburne islands in Lower New York Bay reveals hundreds of breeding egrets, herons, ibis, and other birds. The boat also passes by the Statue of Liberty and under the Verrazano Bridge. Beverages, including wine, are served. Saturday, 7-8:30 p.m., departs from the South Street Seaport, Pier 17, 212-742-1969, $20 general, $10 for children under 12.
