BILINGUAL BREAK Spring break gets bilingual during tours of New York Harbor on the Staten Island Ferry.Two Spanish-English tours are offered, along with a discussion at the Staten Island Museum about the history of the ferry. GERMAN NEW YORK After the steamboat General Slocum disappeared in flames on the East River in 1904, many German-Americans migrated to Yorkville and the Upper East Side. A tour sponsored by the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society explores the neighborhood following the river north through Cherokee Flats, John Jay Park, and other sites.
