Indonesian Wreck Survivors Rescued After Nine Days

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Fourteen survivors of a ferry sinking survived for nine days on a life raft, drifting almost 370 miles before they were rescued, an official said yesterday.
The survivors were scheduled to arrive in Makassar, a port city on Sulawesi Island, yesterday evening, the head of the search and rescue agency on Bali Island, Ketut Purwa, said.
A 15th person died soon after being rescued by a passing cargo ship late Sunday, the official said, speaking to the captain of the ship by radio.
