Jim Acosta and Keith Olbermann Demand CNN Fire Conservative Commentator Scott Jennings for Snapping at a Panelist

Liberal commentators are demanding that CNN fire one of its few conservative personalities, Scott Jennings, after he used an expletive during an impassioned exchange with a fellow panelist.On Thursday, a commentator at MeidasTouch, Adam Mockler, criticized Mr. Jennings for supporting the war in Iran. “We all know that Scott Jennings is more than happy to defend a war with a country that starts with letters ‘I-r-a’ that we are currently failing, that is going to put us trillions and trillions of dollars more in debt,” Mr. Mockler said. “I was only a few years old while you were in the administration defending prior endless wars. Now this war is failing.”Mr. Jennings shot back, “Eight weeks is endless to you? You have the attention span of a nat?”As the two debated the success of the war, Mr. Mockler was pointing in Mr. Jennings’ direction, prompting the conservative commentator to tell him, “Get your [expletive] hand out of my face.”“I’m not going to have this guy’s hand in my face,” he said. Liberal commentators have complained about Mr. Jennings’ presence on CNN for months. Julie Raginsky published a blog post that criticized Mr. Jennings for interrupting and rolling his eyes. Other liberals have complained that he pushes back during panel discussions and presents a conservative view, which they allege is dishonest.After Thursday’s incident, several left-wing commentators demanded that CNN fire Mr. Jennings.A former CNN star, Jim Acosta, wrote on X, “For the love of God, Scott Jennings should be fired.”A former CNN contributor, Wajahat Ali, asked on X, “@CNN any discipline of @ScottJenningsKY over his unhinged outburst yesterday and use of the F word against @adammocklerr?”Liberal commentator Keith Olbermann wrote, “It’s the morning after and @cnn has still not fired @ScottJenningsKY for threatening, in another burst of paranoid rage, @adammocklerr.”He called Mr. Jennings’ response a threat and said that if he is not fired by Monday, CNN “MUST be boycotted.”In response to Mr. Olbermann, one user wrote, “You’re the master of paranoid rage. And wait, you’re good with Kimmel’s trashy, disgusting joke but you have a problem with Scott Jennings snapping at an entitled kid?”A conservative commentator, David Weissman, asked, “Did you call for Jimmy Kimmel to get fired or are you a political hack?”Another user wrote in response to Mr. Acosta, “Now let’s see @Acosta do Kimmel and call for him to be fired…”The calls for Mr. Jennings to be fired come as liberal commentators and Democrats have rallied around ABC’s late-night host, Jimmy Kimmel, for saying that First Lady Melania Trump had a “glow” like an “expectant widow.” President Trump has repeatedly called for Mr. Kimmel to be fired for the joke, which was made two days before a gunman stormed through a security checkpoint at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, allegedly with the intent of killing the president and other officials. Mr. Kimmel has said he was not joking about an assassination, but about Mr. Trump’s age.Earlier this week, Mr. Olbermann defended Mr. Kimmel and told Ms. Trump that if she finds the “tone of discourse unsatisfactory, fix it, take it up” with Mr. Trump.
