The NYSunPolitics Indices are designed to allow political observers to track the ups and downs of the major candidates for president in 2008. Currently, there are two indices, one for the Republican presidential nomination, the other for the Democratic nomination, both at the national level.

The indices take an average of all of the major, national, public polls in a given month and plot them over time to track the candidates’ standings. Only the top three announced candidates in each party are tracked at present — new candidates may be added should they declare their candidacy and demonstrate significant public support.

Take a look at NYSunPolitics.com.
