Three men have been arrested on murder charges in a deadly shooting at a Queens subway station.
Jose Alvarez, Emanuel Ramirez-Hernandez, and Nicolas Reyes teamed up to attack 19-year-old Jose Sierra early Monday at the Broadway stop on the N line in the Astoria neighborhood, police said. Sierra, of the Bronx, was shot in the head.
Messrs. Alvarez, 20, Ramirez-Hernandez, 23, and Reyes, 20, were arrested on murder and gang assault charges, police said late yesterday.
It wasn’t immediately clear what prompted the shooting or how investigators located the suspects. Police said earlier that several men had been seen fleeing the subway station after the shooting.
Mr. Ramirez-Hernandez is homeless, and Messrs. Alvarez and Reyes live in the Bronx, according to police. No telephone numbers could be found for Messrs. Alvarez and Ramirez-Hernandez, and attempts to reach Mr. Reyes by phone were unsuccessful early today. Police were unsure whether the men had lawyers.
