A band of robbers killed a Bronx man Sunday night after breaking into his apartment, tying him up, and beating him before making off with some cash.

A group of between six and eight men forced their way into a basement apartment in the Schuylerville section of the Bronx and used cables to tie up the victim, Antonio Castillo, 44, and his roommate. They then proceeded to beat Castillo until he fell unconscious, police said.

The victim’s landlord, Abdul Rahim, 51, said the teenage roommate of the victim, who he identified only as Pedro, 18, escaped after the men left and knocked on his door for help.
