Mayor Bloomberg is coming out with a new book in September that will focus on his management strategies and the life lessons he’s drawn upon to build his company and run the city. The book, “Do the Hard Things First (And Other Bloomberg Rules for Business and Politics),” will be written in collaboration with Margaret Carlson, a columnist at Bloomberg News, and published by Vanguard Press.
“Over the course of both my private and public sector careers, I’ve learned a set of rules that I believe offer guidance that people of all professions will find useful,” Mr. Bloomberg said in a news release. “In this book, I’ve summed up these rules and my experience in how to follow them: from how to build a first-rate team, to create the conditions for innovation, and to known when to say ‘yes’ to your customers and when to say ‘no.'”
Mr. Bloomberg, a multibillionaire, plans to donate all proceeds from the book to the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, of which he is president of the board of directors.
