A construction worker plummeted seven stories to his death after scaffolding collapsed at a construction site in Brooklyn. The victim fell from the seventh floor scaffolding at 124-21 Flatlands Avenue at about 9:15 a.m., police said.

The construction site was within a sprawling housing complex in the East New York section of Brooklyn, the Fairfield Towers.

The victim, who police did not identify, was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police are waiting on the Office of Chief Medical Examiner to confirm that the victim died from the trauma, police said.
