A 66-year-old man died when he was struck by a drunk driver in Queens late Saturday night, police said yesterday.
The victim, Carmello Raspanti of Sheepshead Bay, had been driving northbound on Woodhaven Boulevard at around 10:45 p.m. in a Nissan Maxima when another car, a Honda Accord, jumped the median and hit him. Raspanti’s car then struck another car, a BMW Suburban. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Accord, Christopher Rivera, 25, of Queens, was arrested yesterday and charged with manslaughter and driving while intoxicated after being treated for minor injuries.
A passenger in Raspanti’s car and two passengers in Mr. Rivera’s car also sustained minor injuries, police said.
