A tour bus hit an elderly woman in Chinatown yesterday, critically injuring her, police said.

The New Century bus, which had been about to pick up passengers headed to Washington, was rounding the corner onto Canal Street from Forsyth Street near the Manhattan Bridge when it hit the woman, who police said is 92 years old.

The woman had been walking in the crosswalk when the bus struck her, police said.

She was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors determined that her injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Police said the driver had a valid license and said that no charges had been filed as of yesterday evening. Chinatown buses linking East Coast cities have raised safety concerns after several accidents in recent years.
