Elected Officials Rally For Additional MTA Funds

State elected officials rallied with representatives from the Straphangers Campaign, the Transport Workers Union Local 100, and the Working Families Party yesterday to call on Mayor Bloomberg to increase city funding of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in order to stave off scheduled fare hikes. Westchester Assemblyman Richard Brodsky said the governor and the mayor need to state how much additional state and city funding they would provide the MTA before its Board votes on the fare hikes on December 19.
