A former Supreme Court nominee is suing the Yale Club of New York for $1 million, alleging he walks with a limp because of a fall he took last year at the social club. Attorneys for Robert Bork, 80, accuse the club of gross negligence for failing to put stairs or handrails on the dais where he was scheduled to give a speech. Mr. Bork struck his left leg on the dais and his head on a heating grate, causing a large hematoma, which later burst, requiring surgery and physical therapy, the lawyers say. A Yale Club spokesman, Timothy Hill, declined to comment on the suit. The Senate denied President Reagan’s nomination of Mr. Bork for the Supreme Court in 1987.
