The federal government is warning immigrants about organizations that offer legal assistance for the procurement of a fake visa. The warning, recently posted on the United States Citizen and Immigration website, said that while Congress is debating new immigration legislation, illegal immigrants should be wary of organizations advertising services for a temporary worker program that doesn’t exist. These fraudulent organizations are luring immigrants in the city to pay for legal services that will assist them if new legislation is passed, an attorney for the New York Immigration Coalition, Norman Eng, said. “They send out flyers telling them to get in line for new immigration programs now,” Mr. Eng said.
