NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) – Senator Clinton, Democrat of New York,is scheduled to speak Friday at a Rutgers University forum on women and political leadership.
Mrs Clinton, a presidential aspirant will help Rutgers celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eagleton Institute of Politics and the 35th anniversary of the institute’s Center for American Women and Politics.
Before the public event, Mrs. Clinton aides said, she will meet privately with women’s basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer. A team spokeswoman would neither confirm nor deny that.
Spokeswoman Stacey Brann said the team would not meet the candidate because of prior commitments.
Ms. Stringer and her players were the object of an on-air slur by nationally syndicated radio talk show host Don Imus that resulted in his firing. Mrs. Clinton was originally scheduled to speak at Rutgers on Monday, but the appearance was postponed after a fierce spring storm caused flooding in the New Brunswick area.
